MILE 445

Claire Henley Miller

"I am sure about this one. I reviewed many Pacific Crest Trail travel descriptions, guides and personal accounts, by many authors and in many occasions I dismissed them as “Billy (authors) Gone on Vacation” or “What Jane did on her Summer Vacation” type of narrative.

I dismiss Cheryl Strayed “Wild” as brash, rude, arrogant and incomplete, with no valid descriptions of the trails; Cheryl had never hiked before and brought no useful information, to make it a valid hiking adventure, however, the book end up being a best seller--- due to the fantastic publicity, the movie based on its content received--- but I do not regret or apologize for my review.

Claire Henley Miller Mile 445 on the other hand, is an exciting provocative and romantic accounting of her through hiking attempt, surmounting difficulties and much joy, without the monotonous description of the trail, step-by-step very common in similar titles." --- Gilberto d'Urso, Mountain N' Air Books

Claire is a English major with a bachelor degree in writing, 26 years old with a passion for adventure, so I expect to see and review her future publications.
