There is another Yosemite that lies beyond the well visitred Valley---thousand square miles of mountain wilderness characterized by Bob Hansen in his introduction to this book as "an intricate tapestry of alpine lakes and meadows, remanent glaciers and snowfields, majestic forests, and streams that roll into cascading rivers and plummeting waterfalls."
